Orion Expedition Cruises announce ‘Inland Sea of Japan’ voyages

In June and July 2011, Orion Expedition Cruises’ new ship, Orion II, will host a series of ‘Inland Sea of Japan’ voyages. The ten-night voyages aim to mix traditional highlights with treating guests to unusual and exclusive Japanese experiences. Every voyage will have a specialist expedition team on board to provide insights into the culture, history, and geography of the regions. Though the itineraries will vary between voyages, there are certain sites that will always be visited. The Orion II will visit the Matsue Castle, the Sakai Sake brewery, Hiroshima, and Kanazawa, one of the few places in Japan where geisha culture is still alive. The Orion II accommodates 50 couples and 70 attentive staff members as such, is very exclusive. The ship’s features include a health spa, gym, boutique, library, and fine dining options personally cooked by award-winning chef, Serge Dansereau.
