Holland America Line has planned a US $300 million brand enhancement to the top staterooms furniture, decor and amenities !
The first ships to have the new treatment will be the Eurodam and the Oosterdam, followed closely by the Nieuw Amsterdam, Westerdam, Zuiderdam and Noordam.
All other ships will receive the refurbishments as they have their scheduled dry docks over the next few years.

BBC Earth – HAL are partnering with BBC Earth to bring world-class fun and factual entertainment onboard.
Through the innovative and breathtaking programming that is a signature of BBC Earth, guests will be taken closer to the ocean and natural world through groundbreaking concerts, films, shows, children’s activities and theme cruises.
BBC Earth will roll out across the fleet starting in April 2016 and will be on all ships by September 2016!
AFAR Media – HAL are partnering with experiential travel expert AFAR Media to help cruisers dream, plan, choose and prepare for the perfect cruise holiday.
AFAR will provide ‘Destination Guides" for all of Holland America Line’s ports of call and scenic cruising areas.
Each destination guide will contain an overview of up to 20 top picks to see and do in the area; recommended restaurants, cafes, markets, as well as shopping suggestions.
Utrip – HAL has collaborated with Utrip to help them personalise their holiday experience.
Through integration into the Holland America Line website, the Utrip platform will offer a novel way to personalise content in new Destination Guides that are being created in partnership with AFAR Media.
Cruisers will be able to browse the information on their own or utilise the Utrip functionality to select desired ports of call, highlights and activities ashore.
Clients will then receive customised recommendations on our cruise itineraries, port highlights, as well as shore excursions tailored to their interests.
It will simplify things for you by narrowing down your options and it will also enable you to find cruises visiting specific ports and regions without having to sort through dozens of itineraries in that area.
