Flying from Sydney International Airport

As borders re-open and travel resumes, please be aware that travel advice is continuing to change.

Before you travel make sure you familiarise yourself with the requirements of your airline and for your destination and transit country.

For the latest information, please visit the Smart Traveller and NSW Government website.

Masks remain mandatory at airports and on commercial flights. Passengers can take additional measures to help avoid queuing and congregating at the airport by checking in online where possible and arriving at the advised time ahead of their flight, which is one hour for domestic flights, and three hours for international flights.

If you are feeling unwell or displaying any symptoms associated with COVID-19, do not come to the airport. Seek medical advice and talk to your airline about deferring your travel plans.

If you are visiting the airport please wash and sanitise your hands regularly.

Pre-Departure Testing
If you are travelling internationally, you may be required to provide a negative COVID-19 test result at check-in.

Histopath offer pre-departure COVID testing at T1 International terminal, at the Valet parking area outside of the departures hall, opposite check in counter H.

Results can be returned within 1 hour and test results will comply with the requirements of your destination country.

Find out more on the Histopath website.

Do I need to arrive earlier for my flight?
Check with your airline for any specific requirements, as these may differ depending on who you’re travelling with. Our general recommendation for Domestic flights is that you arrive at least 1 hour before your scheduled flight time. For International flights, we recommend you arrive 3 hours before your scheduled flight time.
