Itinerary

Day 1 – Arrival in Labuan Bajo
On arrival on the island of Flores you will be met by the local representative and transferred to your hotel.

Day 2 – Rinca, Pink Beach & Komodo Island 
Wake early for an exciting day searching for the infamous Komodo dragon. The largest living lizard on earth, they can grow up to a length of three metres and weigh a hefty 90 kilos! After breakfast transfer to the harbour, and then enjoy the views of tropical blue waters and numerous tiny islands during the four-hour boat journey to Komodo Island. On arrival a local ranger will escort you on a one-hour walk in search of wild buffalo, deer, pigs, various species of tropical birds, and of course the mighty Komodo dragons.

Lunch is taken on the beautiful Pink Beach where there is also time for swimming and snorkelling (snorkels and fins are provided). Then continue by boat to Rinca Island for a soft trek with a local ranger through the forest and savanna, all the while keeping your cameras ready for a sighting of the dragons. Hike up to the highest point of the island for far reaching views of the surrounding islands. Return by boat to Labuan Bajo and transfer back to the hotel.

Day 3 – Labuan Bajo to Ruteng
In the morning start the journey to the small town of Ruteng. En route discover the Mirror Cave and the unique spider web rice fields at Cacar. Continue to the traditional village of Ruteng Puu, and then on to Liang Bua Cave where the bones of the new species, Homo Floriensis (also known as the hobbit), were recently found.

Day 4 – Ruteng to Bajawa 
Drive to Bajawa, a town surrounded by volcanic scenery. Along the way stop at Lake Rana Mese, a small crater lake in the middle of the forest. Also visit the traditional village of Bena to see the megalithic stones, the old thatched-roof houses, and the impressive views of Mount Inerie.

Day 5 – Bajawa to Moni
Today’s journey takes you through beautiful landscapes and past views of Ebulobo Volcano to Moni, a small settlement at the foot of the volcanic Mount Kelimutu. Visits will be made to the traditional village of Wogo; Pengga Jawa beach filled with blue and green stones; and the former residence of Soekarno, Indonesia’s first president.

Day 6 – Moni to Mt.Kelimutu to Maumere
Before sunrise embark on a short walk to Kelimutu Volcano, which means Mountain of the Spirits. As the sun slowly rises take photos of the spectacular views of the three crater lakes, each of which is a different colour due to the dissolved minerals in the water. After breakfast back at the hotel, set off to the town of Maumere. During the journey visit Paga Beach for a refreshing swim and then continue to Sikka, famous for its old church and the Ikat fabric woven by the villagers and displayed in the Ledalero Museum. Close to Maumere visit Wuring, a small fishing village on stilts.

Day 7 – Departures
Depending on the flight time spend your last hours relaxing at the resort, before the tour guide transfers you to the airport and helps with the check-in procedure.

  • Discover the splendid underwaterworld of these rich waters at Pink beach
