Airlie Beach

Airlie Beach is the gateway to the Whitsunday Islands and Great Barrier Reef. The thriving mainland town has become a tourism mecca with a sparkling waterfront man-made lagoon and multiple alfresco dining venues and a whole host of activities to keep the entire family entertained. Situated just south of Townsville and north of Mackay, Airlie beach is the ideal place to explore the hidden gems of Queensland.

Navigate your way through the Whitsunday Passage – a conglomerate of 74 tropical islands featuring the popular Hamilton and Hayman Islands, and lesser known Daydream and Long Island, and the spectacular white sand of Whitehaven Beach on Whitsunday Island. A variety of activities are available from ocean rafting, bareboat charters, snorkelling, diving, paragliding and kayaking. Explore secluded beaches and bustling marinas. Or take a trip out to the Great Barrier Reef or a scenic flight over the iconic Heart Reef.

For those wanting to explore a little further, Conway National Park has many walking trails, hidden beaches and gorgeous outlooks, or try the near by Cedar Creek Falls, a fantastic spot for a dip in the alluring waterhole.
