A new luxury hotel designed by Philippe Starck is being planned for the Seminyak area of Bali. Set to break ground in 2013, Stairs Villa Hotel will feature a collection of 12 glass-walled villas, along with a patisserie, restaurant, bar, boutique, library, spa and fitness centre. The resort derives its name from the centrepiece of the project – a giant 20-metre-wide stairway. French designer Starck said The Stairs would become a “boiling bucket of energy, activity and intelligence".
