Marriott International has signed an agreement to manage the Gotenyama Garden Hotel Laforet Tokyo.
The deal, penned with Mori Trust Group, will see the property renovated and rebranded as the Tokyo Marriott Hotel, before reopening in
December 2013.Located in the Shinagawa Gotenyama area of the Japanese capital, the hotel features a 20-metre-high atrium containing a restaurant, lounge, bar and terrace overlooking the hotel’s garden.
The refurbishment will also see the addition of a newly-built waterfront chapel.
The Marriott Tokyo Hotel will become the third Marriott-branded hotel in Japan, following properties in Okinawa and Nagoya, while a new hotel in Osaka is due to open in 2014.
