Emirates has increased the number of flights it offers to Adelaide.
The Dubai-based carrier commenced four weekly flights to the South Australian city in November 2012, and has now raised the frequency to daily. The increase will see an extra 1,062 seats added to and from the city every week, carrying an estimated 200,000 passengers on the route each year.
“The response since our inception into South Australia has been overwhelming, with current load factors averaging between 85% and 90% throughout December and January,” said Salem Obaidalla, Emirates’ senior vice president of commercial operations for the Far East & Australasia. “South Australians have been receptive of the new Emirates product and service across all classes.”
Emirates operates its 354-seat Boeing 777-300ER on the 13-hour flight between Adelaide and Dubai, offering eight seats in first class, 42 in business class and 304 in economy.
From Dubai, flight EK440 now departs daily at 0200 and arrives in Adelaide at 2050. Outbound from Adelaide, flight EK441 departs at 2235, arriving in Dubai at 0515.
