DAY
ITINERARY
Day 1 October 26, ‘Louisiane’ (R D)
This evening set sail with a special drinks party on deck as the luxurious Louisiane cruises past the French Quarter.
Day 2 October 27, Oak Alley, LA (B L D)
Located on the Mississippi River between the historic cities of New Orleans and Baton Rouge, Oak Alley Plantation has been called the Grande Dame of the Great River Road. A quarter-mile canopy of giant live oak trees forms an impressive avenue that leads to this classic Greek-revival style antebellum home. This imposing mansion has been restored to its 19th century glory, a noble tribute to those who left an indelible mark on this rich River Region.
Day 3 October 28, River cruising on the mighty Mississippi (B L D)
After a few action packed days and evenings, today is a relaxing ‘day at sea’ on the Mississippi River, with time to sleep in, enjoy breakfast on deck, watch the passing scenery, catch up with a new book or attend the cooking demonstration by our Executive Chef, famed Southern cooking authority Regina Charboneau. Later today, enjoy a drinks party on the front deck with Texas Bulls Eye Bloody Mary’s following by dinner in the Orleans Room and late night entertainment in the Observation Bar.
Day 4 October 29, Natchez, MS (B L D)

Sitting high on the bluff above the mighty Mississippi River rests Natchez, a city 300 years in the making. At first glance, Natchez appears to be frozen in time, with perfectly preserved homes and buildings that remind us of days gone by. In fact, over 1,000 of its historic structures are listed in the NationalRegister of Historic Places. Upon closer inspection, discover that Natchez, while indeed a reflection of the past, is also alive in the present – filled with arts, music, culture, events, commerce and natural beauty. A special treat awaits Cruiseco guests today, an afternoon reception at one of the grandest plantation homes in the country, Dunleith, a highlight of the entire voyage for many.
Day 5 October 30, Vicksburg, MS (B L D)

In Vicksburg, experience Southern hospitality in its most authentic form. It’s a city bursting at the seams with history at some of its most poignant turns, art at its most creative angles, food at its finest flavors, and outdoor adventure at its most thrilling. With sweeping views of the Mississippi River, Vicksburg perfectly blends Southern culture and heritage along with hallowed stories of one of the most epic Civil War battles. Naturally, an in-depth tour of the battlefield is included.
Day 6 October 31, Day of River Cruising (B L D)

Enjoy the warmth of the Mississippi River sun while lounging on deck, catching up with a new book or lunch al fresco with newly found friends. This afternoon the most acclaimed historian in Memphis, Jimmy Ogle is lecturing about this great city. Tonight might be an ideal night for a casual dinner on deck, rotisserie chicken with fresh corn on the cob and Louisiane’s justly famed bread pudding.
Day 7 November 1, Memphis, TN, overnight stay (B L D)
Excitement resonates as Louisiane reaches America’s third-largest inland port, famous for blues, barbeque, and Elvis Presley’s Graceland. Less-touted attractions, such as the Pink Palace and Mud Island’s River Walk, replicating 1,000 miles of Mississippi River history and geography along an intriguing six-block stroll, are just as intriguing. The Memphis-Arkansas Memorial Bridge creates a dramatic backdrop for it all. Louisiane docks at the end of famed Beale St., birthplace of the Blues meaning guests are a short walk from this great entertainment district. Nicer still, Cruiseco have arranged for the riverboat to stay overnight in this great city, allowing guests even more time to enjoy it. Tonight is a rare and special treat: Graceland will stay open after-hours just for Cruiseco with special tours of the home and gardens.
Day 8 November 2, Memphis, TN (B L D)
Guests have all morning to further explore Memphis and a ‘must see’ is the moving National Civil Rights Museum, built at the hotel where Martin Luther King was assassinated. A happier sight can be found this morning at the elegant Peabody Hotel where each morning, ducks march single file through the Grand Lobby to jump in the fountain in the center of the Lobby, a setting so historic that Tennessee Williams once remarked that the Mississippi River began in the lobby of the Peabody Hotel.
Day 9 November 3, Cape Girardeau, MO (B L D)
In 1773, French soldier Jean Baptiste de Giradot established a trading post in what is now known as Cape Giradeau. After the Seven Years War, settlement of the city began in earnest in 1793. Shared by Spain, local Indian tribes and American settlers, Cape Giradeau was finally incorporated as an official town in 1808. Site of the Battle of Cape Giradeau in 1863, this historic site was a vital port for traders traversing the Mississippi River. Tours of Cape Giradeau include visits to many captivating landmarks including the Mississippi River Tales Mural, Riverfront Park and the Confederate War Memorial.
Day 10 November 4, Day of River Cruising (B L D)
Sit back and enjoy the beautiful scenery as Louisiane makes her way from Missouri and into Kentucky. Seeing the colorful sights that make up the banks of the Mississippi River will be a highlight of this journey. Notice the colour of the river change today as this luxurious riverboat moves from the Mississippi River into the Ohio River this evening.
Day 11 November 5, Paducah, KY
Visitors from across the globe marvel at the artistry of The National Quilt Museum’s collection of quilts and exhibits. Enjoy old- fashioned clip clopping horseshoes while leisurely riding along the Ohio River on a horse-drawn carriage ride. Paducah is a lovely old town where James Audubon did many of his famed bird paintings and inevitably, much of the town turns out to see “the fancy riverboat arrive” as Mark Twain once put it. At the end of the day, the aromas of Paducah’s eclectic culinary options will leave guests longing to return to this picturesque river town.
Day 12 November 6, Dover, TN (B L D)
As the ship nears the tranquil town of Dover, Tennessee, delight in the wonder of Kentucky Lake, the largest world’s largest manmade lake. Venture inland to experience the “Land Between The Lakes”. With over 170,000 acres, the “Land Between the Lakes” is a place of beauty, history, and adventure. This esteemed nature park has a wide variety of recreational opportunities for guests to enjoy.
Day 13 November 7, Day of River Cruising (B L D)
Saving the best for last, spend all day steaming along the extraordinarily beautiful Cumberland River, through narrow canyons with lush foliage. Many travellers believe this stretch of the Cumberland River to be among the prettiest in North America. Tonight enjoy a very special Farewell dinner and in anticipation of arrival in Nashville, an evening filled with country-western music.
Day 14 November 8, Nashville, TN (B L D)
Arrive in Nashville “Music City, USA” this morning. After breakfast enjoy a sightseeing tour of this vibrant city that will visit the Grand Ole Opry, Music Row and the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. Other popular attractions include The Parthenon, the only full-scale reproduction of the famous Greek temple in the world, and the Jack Daniel Distillery. Tonight’s final dinner will be followed by a performance in a country western club in Music Row.
Day 15 November 9, Nashville and depart for home (B)
Our luxurious river cruise through America’s heartland has come to an end. Disembark the ship this morning and transfer to the Nashville airport.
