Lawrence Rudner is a former professor and retired aerospace engineer. Through his work in advanced satellite design and on the propulsion equipment for advanced military aircraft and the Apollo Moon programme, he has acquired a unique appreciation for the accomplishments of early maritime explorers. He is a recognised authority on celestial navigation, and will teach the use of the classic navigational tool: the sextant.
