Itinerary

Day 1    Home Port – Vancouver
Join flight to Vancouver. On arrival you will be met and transferred* to your hotel in the heart of one of Canada’s most beautiful cities.
Two Night Stay: The Fairmont Hotel Vancouver

Day 2    Vancouver – EXCLUSIVE Capilano Suspension Bridge Nature Walk (B,D)
Today be the first to see the sunlight warm the dewed foliage and timbers of the forest with an early morning Exclusive Guided Nature Walk through the rainforest at Capilano Suspension Bridge. Later enjoy a sightseeing tour of Vancouver including the waterfront, Gastown, Chinatown, Stanley Park and Granville Island. The remainder of the day is yours to explore. Tonight join your Scenic Tours Tour Director and traveling companions for dinner at your hotel.

Day 3    ‘The Rocky Mountaineer’ – Kamloops (B,L,D)
Early morning transfer to the railroad station for 2 days enjoying ‘the Most Spectacular Train Trip in the World.’ Relax in your guaranteed Goldleaf carriage and experience unsurpassed levels of Dome Car service. Enter the fertile FraserValley and then follow the Thompson River towards Kamloops. Tonight, perhaps enjoy dinner and a show at The Maple Leaf Musical or Lumberjack Show (Optional Dinner-Show at own expense. Book with your Travel Agent).

Day 4    ‘The Rocky Mountaineer’ Train – Banff (B,L)
Transfer back to Kamloops station and continue your journey eastward into the spectacular Rocky Mountains. Marvel at the glaciers and snow-capped mountains of RogersPass and Kicking Horse Pass. Late afternoon arrival into Banff and transfer to your hotel.

Day 5    Banff – Scenic FreeChoice Day (B,D)
This morning you are free to choose one of the following Scenic FreeChoice activities, included in the tour at no extra cost. Scenic FreeChoice Inclusions. Day 6  Emerald Lake – Lake Louise (B,D)
After a relaxed morning, continue to the glacier fed EmeraldLake and the NaturalBridge. Early afternoon arrive into stunning Lake Louise, Canada’s “Diamond in the Wilderness" and enjoy a nature walk along the shoreline of the lake. Scenic FreeChoice Dining. Day 7    Peyto Lake – Athabasca Glacier – Jasper National Park (B,D)
Travel north today along the incredible Icefields Parkway, acclaimed as one of the most spectacular journeys in the world. Stop at the Columbia Icefield, where you’ll take the ‘Ice Explorer’ onto the mighty Athabasca Glacier. This afternoon arrive in stunning Jasper National Park. Scenic FreeChoice Dining. This evening choose where to dine from a selection of restaurants in Jasper. Choose from either (1) The Emerald Lounge or (2) The Edith Cavell or (3) The Moose Nook Northern Grill or (4) Meadows Restaurant.

Day 8    Cariboo Mountains – Sun Peaks (B,D)
This morning take a guided walk down the stunning Maligne canyon and marvel at the spectacular rock formations of one of Canada’s’ longest underground river systems before departing Jasper. Soon stand at the base of awesome, 3,954-metre Mt Robson. Continue past the early trading settlement of Tete Jaune Cache and into the Cariboo Mountains region. This evening enjoy dinner and a historic look into the fur trading industry and life as a pioneer ‘ Exclusive to Scenic Tours.

Day 9    Cariboo Region – Whistler – ScenicFreeChoice’ Evening (B,D)

Day 10    Cheakamus Canyon – Howe Sound – Victoria (B)
Exclusive to Scenic Tours: Optional 1 Hr Floatplane Flight to Victoria. Leave the crowds behind and soar over the many scattered islands through the Georgia Strait to the historic capital of British Columbia, Victoria. Arrive early afternoon giving you more time to explore! (additional Expense).

Breakfast at your hotel and travel south along the Sea to Sky highway, stopping at the awesome ShannonFalls, one of the tallest waterfalls in British Columbia. Board a ferry and cruise through the GeorgiaStrait to Victoria.

Day 12    Vancouver – 7 Night Alaskan Cruise (B,D)
Breakfast at your hotel before transferring back to the mainland where you will board your luxurious cruise ship for your 7 night voyage through the famed Inside Passage to Alaska. Check into your Verandah Stateroom on HollandAmerica’s ms Zuiderdam and settle-in for an unforgettable cruise.

Day 13    Cruising the Inside Passage (B,L,D)
Spend the entire day cruising the Inside Passage one of the worlds’ most spectacular waterways as your ship threads her way past forests of spruce and hemlock, mountains, islands and inlets.

Day 14    Juneau, Alaska’s Capital (B,L,D)
Arrive into Alaska’s scenic capital city, Juneau. Learn the city’s Gold Rush story, drop into the Red Dog Saloon or visit the fascinating AlaskaStateMuseum. (Shore excursions are at own expense).

Day 15    Skagway (B,L,D)
Sail into Skagway with plenty of free time to go ashore and stroll the weathered boardwalks and false-fronted buildings as you step back to the Days of 1898.

Day 16    Glacier Bay (B,L,D)
Early this morning your cruise ship enters the iceberg-strewn waters of Glacier BayNational Park and Preserve, where 13 spectacular glaciers flow from surrounding mountains into the waters of the bay. Perhaps you will be lucky enough to see a pinnacle of ice ‘calve’ or break away from the face of a glacier to plunge into the bay. A National Park Service Ranger onboard the ship will help you spot wildlife, while pointing out sights and explaining glacier activity.

Day 17    Ketchikan (B,L,D)
Arrive into picturesque Ketchikan. Take the opportunity to visit TotemBightState Park and walk through the forest to a replica TlingitIndianVillage. (Shore excursions are at own expense).

Day 18    The Inside Passage (B,L,D)
A relaxing day as you travel south through the Inside Passage, shaped by glaciers millions of years ago.

Day 19    Vancouver– Toronto (B)
Disembark your cruise this morning and join your flight eastbound to Toronto. (*Flight not included in Ground Content Only price).  Upon arrival in Toronto transfer to your hotel where you will meet your Scenic East Coast Tour Director.

Day 20    Niagara Falls – “Maid of The Mist” Boat Ride (B,D)
Enjoy Niagara Falls, one of the world’s natural wonders. Visit the historic and beautifully preserved village of Niagara-on-the-Lake before enjoying your first, unforgettable glimpse of the falls. Board the ‘Maid of The Mist’ boat for a thrilling ride to the foot of Horseshoe Falls. Enjoy some leisure time before returning to Toronto early this evening. Tonight enjoy dinner with your Tour Director and travelling companions at your hotel.

Day 21    Kingston – CN Tower – Thousand Islands Cruise – Ottawa (B,D)
This morning after breakfast at your hotel see the view from the top of CN Tower before briefly touring the lakefront and downtown area of Toronto. Then continue east along the shores of Lake Ontario to Kingston, the gateway to the beautiful Thousand Islands region of the St. Lawrence River. At Rockport cruise through the maze of the Thousand Islands, which mark the border between Canada and the United States. Enjoy views of forested islands and magnificent mansions, built early last century for New York’s wealthy families as summer homes. Continue through rolling farmlands, following the rivers and lakes to Canada’s national capital ‘ Ottawa.

Day 22    Ottawa – Parc Omega – Montebello (B,D)
Enjoy a sightseeing tour of Ottawa including the imposing Parliament Buildings, Government House and the official residence of the Prime Minister. Travel along the north shore of the mighty St. Lawrence River en route to picturesque Montebello. This afternoon explore Parc Omega a 1500 acre park where you will discover native wildlife such as Black Bears, Buffalo, Deer, Moose, Bison and much more in their natural habitat. Take the time to stroll through the parks walking trails and come face to face with free roaming red deer.

Day 23    Quebec City (B,D)
Continue to Quebec City, the only walled city in North America and an important World Heritage Listed site. Enjoy a tour within the walls of the Vieux Carre (Old City) and visit Lower Town. This is truly a remarkable city, every building in Old Quebec tells a story and every square exudes the spirit of New France with a history dating back many hundreds of years.

Day 24    Montmorency Falls – ‘Scenic FreeChoice’ Afternoon (B,L)
After breakfast view the impressive Montmorency Falls as you traverse a landscape characterised by rugged mountains and the mighty St. Lawrence River. Lunch today is a traditional Quebecois feast at the ‘Sugar Shack’. Continue north through the rural and historic townships of the Quebec province to St Anne Du Beaupre Basicila ‘ the ‘Lourdes’ of New France. This morning continue travelling to the old world charm of Montreal. On arrival, enjoy a sightseeing tour of the city, viewing the Olympic Complex, St Joseph’s Oratory, Notre Dame Cathedral and views of the city skyline from the parklands of Mt Royale. This afternoon is at leisure to explore this historic and vibrant city.

Day 26    7-Night Gulf of St Lawrence Cruise (B,D)
This morning farewell your Tour Director and transfer to the pier to board the Holland America Line ship ‘ms Maasdam’. Settle into your Oceanview Stateroom* for the next 7 nights.

Day 27    Quebec City (B,L,D)
Today spend time in Quebec City with a choice of shore excursions available including horseback riding, or a trip to Canyon Ste-Anne and a local winery. (Shore excursions at own expense)

Day 28    At Sea, cruising the Gulf of St Lawrence (B,L,D)
Spend the whole day at sea, cruising the Gulf of St Lawrence. Perhaps be lucky enough to see pods of Beluga, delightful white whales.

Day 29    Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island (B,L,D)
This morning arrive into the charming city of Charlottetown on Prince Edward Island. Plenty of free time to explore the city, famed for being the birthplace of Canada. Be sure to visit Confederation Centre or perhaps enjoy an optional tour to the ‘Anne of Green Gables’ homesite. (Optional tours at own expense.)

Day 30    Sydney – Cape Breton Island (B,L,D)
Having cruised around the northern edge of  Nova Scotia, arrive into the charming port of Sydney on Cape Breton Island this morning. Spend the day in Sydney or take an optional sightseeing tour. Perhaps tour the Cabot Trail around Cape Breton Highland National Park, visit the Alexander Graham Bell Museum on Bras d-Or Lake or visit the magnificently restored, 17th century  Fortress of Louisbourg. Day 31    Halifax, Nova Scotia (B,L,D)
Arrive into Halifax this morning and spend the day docked in one of the world’s most beautiful natural harbours. Explore this fascinating and historic city on your own or perhaps take an optional tour to delightful Peggy’s Cove, perhaps the most photographed village in Canada. (Optional tours at own expense.)

Day 32    Bar Harbor, Maine (B,L,D)
Enter the waters of the United States this morning as you sail along the coast of New Brunswick and past Grand Manan Island. Arrive into Bar Harbor, from where optional tours will be available into the beautiful Acadia National Park(at own expense.) This evening enjoy your final night onboard your ship as you sail south towards the historic city of Boston.

Day 33    Boston (B)
Arrive into the lovely city of Boston early this morning. After disembarking from your ship enjoy a sightseeing tour of this historic city. This afternoon is free to explore further.

Day 34    Boston – New York (B)
This morning board the Amtrak ‘ Acela Express to New York. Relax in Business Class seating and enjoy superior comfort and service onboard.  Travel through Connecticut to the vibrant city of New York. Enjoy a relaxing evening at leisure in the Big Apple.
