Situated on the sheltered north west coast, the Trou aux Biches resort stretches along 2 kilometres of white sand beach and overlooks a tranquil and pristine lagoon. The unique bungalows with thatch and shingled roofs are scattered throughout 40 hectares of tropical gardens to create an ambience of tropical tranquillity.

The rooms are well appointed with refined d飯r in natural earthy tones and include a variety of accommodation options. All bungalows face the sea with some located right on the beachfront and others set back within the privacy of the tropical gardens.

Apart from the unique bungalow accommodation, the resort features a spectacular pool, two restaurants (a third beach restaurant is planned in late 2004), two bars overlooking the beach, a 9 hole golf course and a casino.

You may also be tempted to visit Grand Baie or Port Louis for some retail therapy as the Trou aux Biches has a central proximity however it is understandable if you prefer to remain at the resort and enjoy all it has to offer.

RESTAURANTS & BARS

Buffet and set menu dinners are included within your halfboard. Some special set menus may require a supplement if selected. A credit is given for a la carte dining and anything in excess of this credit will be charged to your account.

La Caravelle Restaurant & Bar

This is the main restaurant and is located on the waters edge offering views of the lagoon and the endless horizon. It is open all day and serves hot and cold buffet breakfast, à ¬a carte lunch, and in the evening, a variety of themed buffets and the occasional set menu.
The Caravelle bar adjoins the restaurant and well positioned near the entertainment area, which is the hub of evening activity at the hotel.

L’Oasis Restaurant & Bar

This poolside restaurant is a favourite with guest. It has an open-air setting under a thatch roof and offers meals throughout the day with pancakes being a favourite. It is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. During the day it is the centre of activity while in the evening it transforms to a more refined, romantic setting with candlelit dinners and fine dining. A la carte and set menus are proposed for dinner. The L?Oasis bar has one of the most stunning locations where guests can enjoy an exotic cocktail or coffee right on the water?s edge.

Dress Code

Smart casual clothing is required for dining in the evening. Gentlemen are requested to wear long trousers.

ENTERTAINMENT

Entertainment is available each night including a resident band and cultural shows. A casino located at the Trou aux Biches resort is also available for guests.

They are spacious and attractively furnished with natural earthy tones. Standard room bathrooms have a shower/bath and rooms are positioned on both ground and first floor. A supplement is required for beachfront rooms. NB: Standard rooms located upstairs can only accommodate a maximum of 2 adults

Superior Rooms (54)

The larger superior rooms are well situated at ground and first floor level within the chalet bungalows in a variety of garden or beachfront locations. The large bathrooms include a separate shower, bath and toilet while the spacious bedroom and lounge areas are elegantly furnished. A supplement is required for beachfront rooms.

Family Apartments (10)

These large apartments are located on the ground floor and comprise a large superior room and a smaller standard room, each with their own en-suite bathroom facilities and a television in each room. They are approximately 75 square metres and decorated in tropical colours. The children?s room also has a separate entrance at the rear of the chalet, which has been designed for a nanny or babysitter to enter without disturbing the parent?s. The large apartments can accommodate a two adults and up to four children.

Suites (3)

The three exclusive and extremely spacious suites of approximately 110 square metres, are located right on the beach and resemble double storey apartments. The downstairs area comprises a large lounge and dining area with an adjacent kitchenette and separate toilet. Upstairs is the spacious bedroom with high ceilings and a beautifully appointed bathroom. The large balconies and terraces located within metres of the beach are the perfect setting for al fresco dining. Each Suite is assigned a valet to cater for guests service requirements. Suites also connect to a standard room to cater for larger families.
