Speyer

Speyer, a city in the Rhineland-Palatinate region of Germany, is one of the oldest German cities and has a beautiful old town. Speyer is located along the banks of the Rhine river in the southwest of Germany and has been a diocesan town since 346. Its first churches and monasteries were built in the 6th and 7th century.

One of Germany’s largest and most important historical icon is the 11th century Imperial Cathedral of Speyer. Its crypt contains the tombs of eight German emperors and kings as well as several bishops.
